We ended up at Whitebull Hotel in NSW by accident after getting lost, and the “steakhouse” sign out front made us think we were in for a proper steak-focused meal. In reality, it’s more of a standard pub with a good range of menu options, which was a bit different from what we expected. The chicken parmigiana my friend ordered was really good, but my steak was pretty average — it lacked seasoning and wasn’t very juicy, especially for a place promoting itself as a steakhouse. The gravy also tasted a lot like packet gravy, which wasn’t ideal for a pub meal. Overall, it was okay, but not somewhere I’d go out of my way for based on the steak. The venue does advertise itself as a steakhouse with a broad menu and a range of grill and pub-style meals.

One of the better pubs I’ve visited. Great selection of tap beers and delicious food. The ABC Chicken Schnitzel was a standout, and the Barramundi had a light, fluffy batter with a huge portion. The Works Burger was also a hit, with a great mix of flavours. It gets very busy, so book ahead, but even with a packed pub the service was fast and friendly.

This is the 4th year going here and I have never been disappointed. The food was absolutely first rate. The staff were absolutely fantastic even though they were under the pump they were totally professional and they didn't disappoint. I can definitely recommend you visit this restaurant. I'm sorry that all I could give is 5 stars they definitely deserve more.

Great atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was fresh, well presented, and full of flavour—definitely the highlight. Service was a little slow at times, but overall a really enjoyable experience. I’d happily come back!

No wonder this place is so popular in town — we became fans from our very first visit! Despite the busy lunch rush on the ANZ day, the service was flawless. We truly felt valued and seen. The food was outstanding — we had the best steak we’ve ever tasted! The atmosphere and setting were just perfect, making it such a smart and satisfying choice for our family lunch during a packed travel day. A special thanks to the kind waitress who brought us free chips when my little boy asked — such a sweet gesture that made our experience even more memorable. Highly recommended!

Food was amazing! Been a.couple of times. Sausages, schnitzel, fish,.cutlets... All really good, just depends what you are craving. Good size servings... You won't leave hungry! Bar staff were really welcoming, accomodating, and friendly. Overall good vibe.

Great first dinner for our holiday. Atmosphere fantastic with log fire going while 4 out side. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was great.

We went on State of Origin final night so really busy and possibly not a fair review. Lovely bar, was of course very busy, staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was a bit disappointing- 2 of the major ingredients of the salad I ordered were missing. Staff were very apologetic when I asked and brought out the missing bits separately (so had to wait to eat rest) and the chicken was quite a mean portion but this may have just been due to how busy the bar was.

Stopped over on our road trip on waterfall way round trip from port macguire. So glad we fit as the food was great and the place was nice and relaxing for us between the very long drive . The staffs were friendly , wait time was reasonable. The fish tacos, grilled prawn, Schmitz and chicken roll everything turned out to be great, also enjoyed our desserts.Thanks team.
